Tyres and Wheel Alignments
Maximise Tyre Life and Safe Handling
Worn tyres, wrong pressures or poor alignment all affect how your car handles and stops. Not safe.
We fit tyres, balance wheels and do alignments. Keep your tyres sorted and your car handles better.
Our Tyre Services Include
- Tyre Fitting – We fit new tyres for all vehicle types. Cars, utes, 4WDs, we’ve got you covered.
- Wheel Balancing – Unbalanced wheels cause vibration and uneven tyre wear. We balance wheels properly to keep your ride smooth.
- Wheel Alignment – Correct alignment stops uneven tyre wear and keeps your car tracking straight. We align all four wheels properly.
- Tyre Rotation – Regular rotation helps tyres wear evenly and last longer. We rotate tyres according to the recommended pattern for your vehicle.
- Puncture Repairs – Most punctures can be repaired if they’re in the tread and not too big. We’ll check if yours can be fixed.
- Tyre Pressure Checks – Incorrect pressures cause poor handling and premature wear. We check and adjust pressures to the correct levels.
- Tyre Inspection – We check tread depth, damage and wear patterns. Catches problems before they become dangerous.
Signs Your Tyres Need Attention
Don’t ignore tyre problems. Worn or damaged tyres are dangerous. Watch for these signs:
- Tread depth below 1.5mm. This is the legal minimum. Replace tyres before they get this low.
- Uneven wear across the tyre. Could indicate alignment problems, incorrect pressures or suspension issues.
- Cracks, cuts or bulges in the sidewall. Sidewall damage is dangerous. Get the tyre replaced.
- Vibration through the steering wheel. Usually means wheels are out of balance.
- Car pulls to one side. Often caused by incorrect alignment or different tyre pressures.
- Tyres are more than five years old. Even if they look fine, rubber deteriorates with age.
- You can see the wear indicators. Small bars in the tread grooves show when tyres are worn out.
Why Choose AutoCare for Tyres and Alignment?
We stock different tyre brands to suit different budgets. Economy to premium, we’ll help you choose the right ones for your car.
We’ve got good alignment equipment and know how to use it. We align properly, not just close enough.
If your tyres are wearing unevenly, we’ll find out why. Sometimes it’s alignment. Sometimes it’s suspension or pressures. We’ll tell you what’s causing it.
Tyre Maintenance Tips
Look after your tyres and they’ll last longer:
- Check tyre pressures monthly. Use the pressures on the label inside your door frame, not what’s on the tyre sidewall.
- Check tread depth regularly. The legal minimum is 1.5mm but replace them before they get that low.
- Get your alignment checked if you hit a big pothole or kerb. Impact can knock alignment out.
- Rotate your tyres regularly. Helps them wear evenly. Front and rear tyres wear differently.
- Check for damage. Look for cuts, bulges or cracks in the sidewalls and tread.
- Don’t overload your vehicle. Excess weight damages tyres and wears them out faster.
Wheel Alignment vs Wheel Balancing
People often confuse these two services:
Wheel alignment adjusts the angle of your wheels so they’re pointing in the right direction. Fixes pulling to one side and uneven tyre wear.
Wheel balancing makes sure the weight is distributed evenly around the wheel. Fixes vibration and keeps the ride smooth.
Both are important but they fix different problems.
